Tet (Lunar New Year) is a very special and important holiday in Asia. The first day of Tet this year begins on February 7th. During Tet people go and visit their family. Some visit the graves of their ancestors. On Tet, parents buy new clothes for the children. There is a rush in the markets, people trying to buy stuff. Children also get "li xi" which is money in a red envelope or lucky money, their realitives. When Tet arrives many decorations are put up. Like the yellow flowers" Hoa mai." Tet is also a time where we gather around to have a feast with our family. "Banh chung" is a type of food we eat during Tet. It is sticky rice with meat filling or bean. It is shaped into a rectangle. Roasted watermelon seeds are also eaten during Tet. Games are also played like Chinese chess. Tet is celebrated throughout Vietnam and is a lively time.
